Market Highlights

In the first quarter of 2016, average sales prices in the market were relatively consistent with the previous year according to data compiled in the attached Q1 Santa Barbara Market Report.

  • In Santa Barbara the average sales price dropped 5% in Q1 from $1,245,586 in 2015 to $1,188,067 in 2016. This represents the first drop in Q1 average sales prices in Santa Barbara since 2012.
  • The number of homes sold in Santa Ynez increased 37% from 35 homes in Q1 of 2015 to 48 in 2016. This is the second year the number of homes sold has increased in Santa Ynez.
  • The number of total units sold in Montecito in Q1 was up 13% from 56 SFH in 2015 to 63 in 2016.
