If you’re in Southern California on Dec. 31, make sure you attend the best party around by making your way to the Reagan Library for the seventh annual New Year’s Eve Celebration. From 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., the Reagan Library will be the premier spot for celebrating the end of a great year and a new one’s arrival.
Located just up the hill from Simi Valley’s luxury real estate, Reagan’s library, like John F. Kennedy’s, is one of the real jewels in the presidential library crown. Designed by Hugh Stubbins and Associates in the style of a Spanish mission, complete with red tile roofs and a central courtyard, it overlooks spectacular rolling views of the surrounding valley.
Under the wings of Air Force One, New Year’s Eve visitors will be able to usher in 2016 in style fit for a commander-in-chief.
Food and drink worthy of a president
Celebrations in the Reagan Library are the definition of elaborate. There will be a wide selection of hors d’oeuvres available – including grilled bacon wrapped shrimp with a sweet chili creamy coconut sauce, grilled duck confit on flatbread, crispy artichoke hearts and so much more.
All this will be on hand before the incredible carving and food stations open. With carved roast prime rib, roast chicken breast stuffed with apples, wild rice and pecans, grilled salmon filet just a small sample of the extensive array of delicious options, it’s obvious that revelers will have only the best dishes to pair with Santa Barbara and central coast wines, as well as the full bar.
It would be a crime not to also mention the deserts on offer. In addition to a dessert buffet featuring cream puffs, raspberry-filled shortbread, petite almond cakes and an amazing chocolate bar – complete with brewed Belgium hot chocolate, chocolate-dipped dried apricots, chocolate fudge cup cakes and other dreamy treats – there will be a full coffee bar providing enough caffeine for a late night.
Anyone eager to see a full list of the food and drink the Reagan Library will be providing on New Year’s Eve will find a complete menu here.
A party to remember
There’s no doubt that when the library’s hosts say they’re throwing a party, they mean it. All the essentials for an unforgettable time – stellar company, fine drinks and, of course, hats, horns and streamers – will be here on Dec. 31. Oh, and don’t forget the importance of great music.
For the Reagan Library’s seventh New Year’s Eve party, The Platinum Groove will bring its high-energy style to end the year on a ecstatic note. Incorporating a mix of Motown, Swing, Top 40, R&B and more, The Platinum Groove provides a wide variety of sounds to ensure that there will be something for everyone in attendance.
Party goers will also find the stunning Air Force One Pavilion and Around the World holiday tree exhibit open from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m..
