California, some have asserted, knows how to party, and evidence of this belief can be found in Monterey this New Year’s Eve. In addition to boasting some of the most epic and coveted luxury real estate in the country, Monterey also hosts an annual event meant to ring in the New Year proper, and that is First Night Monterey. Many cities take part in this particular tradition, but Monterey is among the best out there on an annual basis.

Some of this year’s performers include local musicians who have played Monterey since 1993 Red Beans & Rice, as well as Valley Soul for the first time. All types of music lovers will be satisfied at the 2017 iteration of First Night Monterey, with so many different talents taking the stage throughout the day.
