Continuing a nearly century-long legacy of beauty and refinement, the 72nd Annual Santa Barbara International Orchid Show will be held this year on the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara, California, from March 17 to 19. surrounded by the area’s signature luxury real estate, visitors will be treated to thousands of blooms in every imaginable shape, color, pattern and texture – all part of one of the country’s largest and oldest celebrations of orchids. ‘Orchid Mystique’ This year’s theme “Orchid Mystique,” pays homage to the nearly 25,000 species of orchids, among which beauty is ubiquitous and uniqueness is commonplace. From the seductive to the secretive, the show highlights the way that bold innovation and species differentiation can create manifold and stunning variations yet all tie back to the same kind of flower. More than 50 orchid exhibitors and vendors from around the world will converge on the showgrounds, offering horticultural delights that will stimulate the senses of sight, smell, touch and – in the case of the edible vanilla orchid – even taste. Santa Barbara International Orchid Show is open Friday, March 17 through Sunday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at Earl Warren Showgrounds, located in Santa Barbara at Highway 101 and Las Positas Road. The event is perfect for the entire family, with general admission only $14 while seniors, students with ID and advance group sales are $12. Children 12 and under are free with an adult.
